The Story Behind the Piece
Rajsi Gulnaar was imagined as a celebration of the Indian woman in all her colour, confidence and splendour. The name draws from gulnaar, evoking the richness of a flower in full bloom, and that feeling lies at the heart of the design.
Across the saree, delicate floral motifs bloom in contrasting blue and gold, almost like wildflowers scattered across a richly coloured garden.The orange border is where the piece takes on its regal character. Its intricate ornamentation recalls the craftsmanship of traditional Indian textiles, where borders were treated almost like jewellery and every fold carried a sense of occasion. The combination of pink, purple and gold gives the saree a wonderfully theatrical quality, while the softer floral motifs keep it feminine and graceful.
